At The National Gallery curator Minna Moore will be offering a tour of the Titian paintings with an eye to addressing the subject of violence towards women.
During the tour Minna Moore will take a small group to look at the Titian paintings. The paintings raise interesting questions about violence towards women, not least because they were, it seems, originally destined for private, secluded male only spaces. |
The tour will also look at Diana, in particular at her role as guardian of chastity in the tale of Diana and Actaeon, as juxtaposed to her part in the downfall of one of her nymph followers, Callisto.
Spaces on this tour are limited please email [email protected] to reserve a place |
