I am. interrupted

I am. Interrupted is a collection of enthusiastic and humanitarian artists working in collaboration with One Billion Rising who have joined force to speak out against this injustice. Using emotive means in response to these facts, the collection of work on show demonstrates what is in the heart of each of us. We recognize art as the most powerful and effective means of not only expression but of revolutionary change.  I am. Interrupted’s goal is to undertake the challenge of engaging the audience with a subject that is sometimes considered taboo, such as domestic violence.

Kosha Hussain
I am. interrupted  & Re: Verse - Organiser

The work of Kosha Hussain, an Iraqi-Kurdish visual artist and musician who has lived and grown in the U.K, looks at the intersection between the marriage of binary components, whether it's the coming together of nationalities and cultures or the union of sight and sound. Kosha's work examines these meetings as a point not only of harmony but also of friction. A continual study of what it's like in an interconnected world with progressively blurred boarders.

David Ncube
Event Organiser

"I write therefore I am. Or rather, I write because there's nothing else I can do as well. I’d say I write about film, love, life and the inevitability of that thing you most dread. I'm an extrovert navel-gazer. I'm the type of person who thinks every window's a potential mirror and every door has a handle. I have amassed 11 books, 6 plays and 7 film scripts. My next work The Spruce Goose, a new play can be seen from the 23rd of March to the 14th of April. It is set between 1947 and 1953."
